Art Basel: Day one.

(Yes I am talking to you.)

(What Rudolph the red nose reindeer looks like in F&F world.)

(Cool white cylinder shaped plastic giant balloons that look like sea anemone's sort of.)

(Found this quite funny, disagree that pineapples are tacky though.)

(Words cut out from canvas fabric very neatly.)

(Cute patchwork character bags being made at Art Basel.)

(A magical Ruffles bag that any Ruffles fan would appreciate.)

(Natalies clean and multi print outfit for day one of Art Basel.)

(Natalie enjoying a small break on a lovely hill of synthetic grass.)

(Lauren's ensemble for the first day of Art Basel.)

(DIY details: H&M necklace revamped and reborn for Lauren's outfit.)

Art Basel -- as a Miami local, where do I begin to explain one of the only things I look forward to the entire year? It is a time where talent, eccentricity, style, design and all things interesting are celebrated. Decemeber 6th was the first day it opened, along with prior events launching the art filled extravaganza. From SoBe to Wynwood and all in between, everyone is taking part in Basel. I was a bit late unfortunately, due to some delays, and had missed quite a few of the events in prior days that I really felt were important to attend but since my schedule (as a college student and employee) is not that flexible, I guess next year I will quit my job to hear Diane Von Furstenburg speak at Design Miami or sneak into the Vanity Fair party. Anyways I had to carefully plan all my outfits for Basel because you need to exert your most inner fashionable rays through your garments at this event. There are some seriously style savvy people here! I decided to wear some medium heeled Fendi sandals, a 3.1 Phillip Lim dress, a Zara military jacket, an H&M necklace I DIY fixed, and my Prada Staffiano tote! What do you guys think? Is it Art Basel worthy or should I have done something more quirky? Anyways, on another note, Natalie cleaned up well with some clean simple lines and mixing of prints with a Rag and Bone Blazer, Zara print dress and Zara slingback pumps. What would you have worn to Art Basel on the first day?

Holiday Gift Guide

Although black Friday is overdue, -- and maybe a gift guide before then would have been helpful -- I decided to make a gift guide for those who are last minute gift givers. Sometimes we procrastinate on gift giving because we want to be able to get something spectacular to those we love, but we have no idea what on earth to give them. I made three different categories of gift guides for all of those important individuals we need to surprise on the holidays.

Getting your best friend or gal pal something uber cute is one of the main initiatives for us females in the holidays. But sometimes we feel either we don't know what to get them, or they probably already have pretty much everything they want and need. What can I get her that she can use and does not already have? Well at the top are some items I think are perfect and super adorable and versatile for any of our female friends.

Getting the boys in our life -- whether it be our brother, guy best friend, boyfriend or father -- is sometimes a bit tricky. But you can get them something fashionable that they can use forever like the items above. Choose from an assortment of things, like a quirky watch for your artistic boyfriend, a rope bracelet for that guy friend, A Kenzo cap for that pesky brother that needs designer in their closet, and or a nice cologne or personalized leather notebook for your father.

Shopping for family members like a special aunt, newly born baby cousin, a style savvy uncle, etc, can sometimes be the hardest thing to do and sometimes are the most important gifts you need to give. Above are some great ideas or miscellaneous items that are best to give as gifts for those family members. Quirky housewarming items always do the trick. For example, a bowl with feet or a nice art book to place on a coffee table can be a great gift for any adult family member. A quirky onesie for the new addition to the family, a nice scented elegant candle for that cousin who just moved into that new home, a box of Dylan's candy to make life a little sweeter, or how about giving the gift of a pet with a fancy fish bowl?

My love affair with red.

This past Sunday, as you can see from the previous post, I decided to take a stroll down Lincoln Road in South Beach for the Antique Market. Lately, I have been really into red and black; usually I don't combine the two that much, but I think it played out quite lovely together in this casual ensemble I styled. My red Yves Saint Laurent Caba's leather tote -- that I purchased about a month and a half ago -- was a buy that I was a bit nervous and unsure about. Usually, I'm always attracted to the neutral tones or the subtle dark cool colors, and tend to make purchases within those color groups. But, buying this red bag was a step for me to join the warm side. I have always loved Poppy red or Valentino red in dresses, but never incorporated much of the color in my more casual looks (or accessories for that matter). Wearing red would make me feel somewhat uncomfortable for some reason, but the spontaneous purchase of this red bag and its color has inspired me to use it more often in my wardrobe.

Lincoln Road Antique/Green Market.

Today, Lauren and I went to the Lincoln Road Antique Market/Green Market to check out the vintage pieces and local organic produce. From designer pieces to the wild and crazy vintage heirlooms, Miami natives filled the market. The fresh squeezed juices were to die for, as well as the amount of vintage fur we encountered. Above are some of the pieces and produce that caught our attention. The market is open to the public about twice a month. If you haven't checked out this fun local event, what are you waiting for?!

What to wear on Thanksgiving.

So Thanksgiving is a day away and I am in a pickle on what to wear that evening, my mother will be hosting it this year so I was thinking about something a bit more laid back. I put together these two outfits because I wanted to be a bit in theme and decided to throw on a vintage western fringe suede jacket in memory of our beloved native american indians and besides it might be chilly. Ideally, I would have wanted to wear booties but I mistakenly gave my Alexander Wang constance booties up for consignment because I was so over seeing them everywhere on everyone. But now I painfully regret that decision and I am stuck in a rut with these Christian Louboutin Dombasie wedges. I have been longing for some cute booties and have not really bought myself a pair since the weather is not very cold here in South Florida. So what do you think of my outfits? which outfit would you prefer? Tell me what you are wearing this Thanksgiving!

The most versatile sandals.

Although we are in the midst of F/W I decided to splurge on these beautiful Celine sandals instead of investing in a much needed pair of booties. Besides how could I resist the temptation when I stumbled upon them and saw they were on sale. I am so in love with the simplicity of these sandals and how they match almost everything in my wardrobe. I know these will stand the test of time in my closet and will never meet the fate of a consignment store.

I love caps and so should you!

Attention ladies the cap is now a must have item in every fashionistas closet, a accessory that will be used in every season and sports season to come. Fashion designers and fashion people have snatched the cap and converted it into a edgy trendy accessory for every it girl to flaunt. Why has this item become a favorite? well besides it giving your style much needed attitude, now like your boyfriend, brother and male friends you too can get a kick out of wearing them without having to attend a sporting event. Be sure to get much high fives and seem cool in the eyes of your male counterparts. Wearing one will win you many compliments or stares due to the fact that it is so unexpected, cool and comfortable and adds a laid back feel to any daily casual ensemble. Block the glare of the sun, keep your noggin snug, bring fashion to the sidelines of your favorite sports team with any of the 8 caps I picked above or do some online/window shopping and browsing of your own to find yourself the perfect one.

Wrap your wrist with this timepiece.

These watches that I spotted on Shop bop while browsing online are quite the show stopper. I love big watches and I know most girls do, especially adding some bracelets to complete the perfect arm swag. But it can get annoying at least for me when my cute bracelets slide under my watch, and I cant say that I love the oversized watches paired with a dressy tight dress for a night out on the town. So I think these watches are perfect to wear at night and are super comfortable and a fabulous remedy for bracelets + a watch besides its a timepiece with a elegant touch. I need to do some saving for one I am really loving the black/gold chained or Pewter chained. What do you think of them?
